What's been happening?
‘Our Local Hero’ Comic Book Workshops
This event was held every Saturday during February. It was produced/designed by Kayleigh De Sousa - a creative producer and illustrator from Stonebridge. The children were tasked with turning someone in their life who inspires them into a superhero. They created a physical comic booklet to take home, and were supported in creative narrative writing and character design.
Couple Pounds and A Dream
“Across 5 sessions we supported 5 young people from the estate to create a song from scratch with assistance from a few professionals in the music industry. We had music producer 'Young Soul' demonstrate how to produce an instrumental and then guided the young people to make their own. The young people also came up with a song concept and we helped with the writing side and performance, preparing them for a studio session with Recording/Mixing/Mastering engineer 'Mr Menni'.
The end result was a great song that all the young people have on their phone, and the studio process was also filmed and edited by Exklusive media.”
Kevin, aka Predz UK, Programme organiser.
